# TwitterViewer

> TwitterViewer is a free web tool for reading public X (Twitter) posts, threads, profiles, media and replies without an X account, with video and GIF downloaders, an account location checker, a community member exporter and advanced search. Threads convert to Markdown or PDF, and a pay-per-post API, a remote MCP server, a CLI and an Agent Skill let AI agents read public X content.

## What it does

TwitterViewer opens public X content from a pasted post link, @username, #hashtag or name. It shows the post with its media, the full thread and the public replies, shows profiles with posts, replies, media and likes, and offers tools around that content. It never asks for an X login, password or cookies, and it cannot show private, protected, suspended or deleted content.

## How to use it

1. Copy the link of a public X post, or an @username.
2. Paste it into the box on the home page (https://twitterviewer.app/) and press View. Replacing `x.com` with this site's address in a post link works too.
3. Read the post, thread and replies; save the post to bookmarks, or use a tool page to download media, check an account location, export community members or search.

## Capabilities and rules

- Viewers: posts and threads, profiles, media gallery, replies, advanced search.
- Downloaders: X videos in any available quality (no bulk video download on Free, more on paid plans); GIFs re-encoded into real .gif files inside the browser (nothing is uploaded).
- Tools: account location checker (platform-reported region vs. bio, with a VPN flag), X Community member exporter to CSV or Excel, and a bookmarklet / mobile shortcut that opens any X page here.
- AI and export: X to Markdown turns a post, thread or profile into Markdown, Obsidian notes or text; Twitter Thread Reader shows a whole thread on one page; Twitter Thread to PDF saves it as a PDF. Conversions use credits (1 credit = 1 post returned) after the free daily conversion.
- Bookmarks are stored in the browser; signed-in users can sync them. Watchlist emails new activity for public accounts.
- Free plan: 3 views a day without an account and 10 with a free account (opening a profile or a post, or loading another page of posts, is 1 view), 1 video or GIF lookup and 1 Markdown or PDF conversion a day; a free account also gets 50 one-time credits for the API; no bulk video download; no Watchlist; no advanced search, community export, likes tab or replies beyond the first page.

- Domain swap: GET /{handle}/status/{id} or /{handle} on twitterviewer.app (replace x.com in the link) with "Authorization: Bearer <API key>" and an Accept header that does not include text/html returns Markdown; ?scope=post|thread|conversation, ?format=obsidian|text|json and ?max= work as in convert. Without a key the call returns 401 and nothing is fetched from X; browsers get the normal page.
