Privacy Policy
Last updated: Oct 14, 2026
1. Introduction
TwitterViewer is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have when you use our viewing service. TwitterViewer is an independent tool and is not affiliated with X Corp.
Viewing public content never needs an X account, and we never ask for your X password. If you use Pro features that X only serves to signed-in users, you can choose to connect your own X account by pasting its session cookie, as described under "Connected X account" below.
2. Information we collect
What you paste or type. The post links, @usernames, hashtags and search terms you enter, so that we can fetch the public content you asked for. We may keep short-lived copies of public content in a cache to make repeat requests faster.
Technical information. Our servers and our network provider log your IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamps and a country-level location. We use these logs to run the service, prevent abuse and apply rate limits.
Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address, your name or display name, and the sign-in method you chose (email and password, Google or Apple). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information those providers share with us.
Bookmarks and Watchlist. If you are signed in, bookmarks you choose to sync and the public accounts on your Watchlist are stored with your account.
Last visit time. For signed-in users who watch accounts, we record when you last used the site. This is used only to decide how often we send Watchlist notification emails, so that we pause them when you stop coming back. It is not used for any other purpose.
Payments and credits. Paid plans are paid in cryptocurrency, which becomes a credit balance on your account. We store your plan, billing cycle, credit balance and the history of credit movements. Payments are handled by a third-party crypto payment processor that receives the payment details needed to complete the transaction. We do not collect bank card numbers.
Connected X account (Pro). If you connect your X account, we store the session cookie values you paste (auth_token and ct0) encrypted, the X username they belong to, and when you connected it and last used it. We use the cookie only to fetch content for requests you start on TwitterViewer: advanced search, Community member export, the likes tab and further pages of replies. Results fetched with your account are not shown to other users. The cookie is never shown back to you or anyone else, is not included in your data export, and is deleted when you disconnect your X account or delete your TwitterViewer account. X may treat these requests as activity from your account. Signing out of X in the browser you copied the cookie from ends the session.
Feedback. If you send feedback, we store your message, the type you chose, the optional email address you provided and, if you tick the option, the page you were on and your browser type.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide the viewing, download, search and export features you request;
- keep the service secure, detect abuse and apply rate limits;
- send emails you ask for, such as email verification, password reset, Watchlist notifications, payment confirmations and grace period reminders;
- operate Pro plans and credit balances;
- respond to feedback and fix technical problems;
- understand in aggregate how the service is used so that we can improve it.
4. Information sharing
We do not sell, trade or rent personal information. We share information only:
- with service providers that help us run the service, under confidentiality obligations. They include hosting and network providers, our email delivery provider, our human-verification provider (Cloudflare Turnstile) and our crypto payment processor;
- with the data providers we use to retrieve public X content, which receive the public link, username or search you asked for, but not your account details;
- with X itself, when you use Pro features with your connected X account: those requests are sent to X with your session cookie;
- when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the service.
5. Data stored on your device
Bookmarks are stored locally in your browser and are not sent to us unless you sign in and choose to sync them. We also store a few preferences in your browser, such as the theme, the sidebar state and your language.
GIF conversion happens inside your browser. The video is not uploaded to our servers for processing.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar storage:
- Essential: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and preference cookies for the sidebar and language.
- Security: Cloudflare Turnstile may set cookies or run checks to tell people from bots when you use features that need a human check, such as signing up.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.
7. Retention
We keep account information while your account exists. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. Cached public content expires automatically. Feedback is kept until it has been handled and we no longer need it. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise the personal information linked to it, except where we must keep records by law.
8. Your choices
You can clear local bookmarks at any time by clearing your browser data or using the clear option on the bookmarks page. You can unsubscribe from Watchlist emails from the Watchlist settings, and you can stop watching accounts at any time. You can cancel a paid plan at any time and delete your account from the billing page. You can disconnect your X account at any time under Account → X account, which deletes the saved cookie.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information. To make a request, contact us as described below.
9. Children
TwitterViewer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will highlight it on the site.
